5 Tips To Maximize Your Gaming Pc Performance
Caring for your Pc, especially a gaming Pc, is crucial to increase its performance and life expectancy. If you regularly use gaming computers, you should be more concerned about the care you should provide to your Pc.
Here are the ways that help maximize the performance of your gaming Pc & laptops;
1. Turn on the gaming mode
Windows is tailor-made for gaming. Microsoft understands the love of users for playing games. This is why Game Pass is so famous. However, Windows still require some alterations to optimize performance, including game mode. This setting arrangement manages system resources for better performance when operating a game. To enable gaming mode, you may follow the following steps:
Step 1: Press the Start button on your keyboard and type Game
Step 2: Click Game Mode Settings when it appears at the top of the Start menu
Step 3: Click the button to turn on Game mode
2. Disable notifications
Distractions during your gameplay are the worst that could happen to any gamer. For a gamer, no interruption while you play is the greatest blessing. Windows has a setting to disable notifications at specific times or when certain things are happening, so there are no more unnecessary notifications on your screen. To change the settings for notifications, you may follow the following steps;
Step1: Press the Windows start button on your PC or keyboard and type Focus Assist
Step 2: Go to the focus settings and click on the option- "alerts from apps and system, do not disturb."
Step 3: Find the setting "turn on do not disturb automatically."
Step 4: Click "when playing a game."
Some Pcs experience lagging due to a bulk of notifications appearing from an app while you are playing, causing a significant disturbance while you play. These settings will ensure a smooth play of your game.
3. Turn on Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling
For some, I know this perhaps is the first time of hearing this. But hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling allows your machine to optimize performance and reduce latency. If you have the proper hardware (a recent graphics card) and are running Windows 10 or 11, you can quickly turn this setting on, much like Game Mode.
4. Adjust for best performance
Windows focuses on a real appearance experience, enhancing specific settings. However, these quality settings can harm gaming performance. It may aid your gaming experience if you turn them off or adjust for performance instead of appearance. To enable this;
Step 1. Click the Windows start button on your PC or keyboard and type appearance and performance.
Step 2. Click "Adjust the performance and appearance of Windows" when it appears on your screen to set it accordingly.
5. Turn off enhanced pointer precision
If you are a game lover, you may have bought a high-end gaming mouse to give yourself the edge against the competition, but that mouse might have its performance limited by Windows settings. Windows has various settings concerning mouse pointer speed, and one, in particular, can be a problem, so we need to turn it off by following the step mentioned below:
Step1: Press the Windows start button on your PC or keyboard and type the mouse pointer
Step 2: Click "change the mouse pointer display or speed."
Step 3: Under the setting marked "motion," untick the option to "enhance pointer precision."
Step4: click apply
